IATF 16949 – Important Considerations for Purchasing Leaders
Learn what purchasing leaders need to know about the new IATF 16949 quality management standard from Denis Devos of the Luminous Group. Denis Devos of Luminous Group discusses how the standard is creating new requirements for purchasing organizations, with a focus on the specific points auditors will be looking at when they conduct transition audits.
TS16949 will expire in September 2018 and every automotive supplier will need to conduct a transition audit that addresses both the IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards. There are substantial new requirements related to how suppliers – including sister facilities, distribution partners, service providers, etc. – are selected and managed. In addition, there is increased focus on how applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as any special product characteristics, are passed down to the supply chain.
Denis Devos is a Fellow of the American Society of Quality. A sought-after lecturer and trainer, he has been working in Quality Assurance throughout his 20+ year career and has extensive experience with Tier 1 suppliers.
